Solution Focused Coaching (SFC)

I have extensive training in a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques which can be integrated in sessions, which I base around several approaches including Solution Focused Coaching, (SFC) which is particularly useful if clients have an idea of what is the root of their issues, or have a specific behaviour which they would like to alter. This approach can be particularly useful as it allows the client to play an active part in the therapeutic process, by setting goals and activities to work on in between sessions, and creates a strong sense of f accomplishment and achievement, and is very effective where traditional counselling or therapeutic approaches have not quite addressed the problem for clients.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (N.L.P)

Sessions can be focused around Neuro Linguistic Programming, which is based on the concept of how we use language (including self-talk), affects our experience, and by looking at the used at and altered to a more favourable use of language, which will in turn effect our expectation and experiences, to more favourable and agreeable outcome.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (M.B.C.T)

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, (MBCT) offers a unique subtle approach to therapy, where clients are taught simple meditations to use within and between sessions, which allow any discomfort within the mind or body to be acknowledged and noticed. This allows for any fear regarding it to be reduced, and in turn the symptom be that fear, pain, discomfort or anxiety is also reduced. This approach is particularly effective with ongoing issues such as pain management.

 

Having recently completed an MSc in Positive Psychology I have a great appreciation for new and revised therapeutic approaches, which focus on positive behaviours and attributes such as Positive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, (MBCT). I also offer Emotional Freedom Techniques, (EFT) including Tapping Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, (NLP) which can be included in counselling sessions, or as stand-alone sessions to further assist clients in overcoming poor life experiences, and moving forwards to a healthier more fulfilling way of being.

Advanced Hypnotherapy techniques can remove inappropriate emotional responses or modify them without eradicating memories or experience. This is what makes it so effective at addressing repetitive behaviour, addictions, phobias or stress and anxiety.

Advanced therapeutic techniques allow the sub conscious to be accessed safely and easily, enabling the necessary changes to be made allowing the best ‘now’ to be achieved and maintained, so that healthy positive thought patterns become second nature themselves.

What to Expect from Hypnotherapy

It is not within my ability or desire to control anyone’s mind, but rather to assist client’s in taking back control of their own subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy sessions are very relaxing, rewarding and a transformative experience, with clients expressing that they enjoy the practice. As an Advanced Hypnotherapist I have an array of techniques and tools to use in sessions. Typically, sessions include therapeutic meditations, which incorporate Breathing Techniques, Fantasy, Mindfulness and suggestion therapy, to create recordings for use between sessions. Dynamic therapy is also used to work with the sub-conscious mind in reprogramming it to change behaviour, and can include Regression Therapy including Past Life Regression, Time-Line Therapy, Inner Child Therapy, Hypno-Analysis, N.L.P, and Emotional Freedom Techniques.

Sessions are integrative in approach, contracted, confidential a commitment from both client and counsellor. Although behaviour can be changed within the first session, I recommend that clients commit to up to six sessions to make meaningful lasting changes.
