Person Centred Counselling
Placing you at the centre
As a Member of the BACP, I have trained to master's level 7 and practice traditional person-centred counselling, in line with their guidance. The person-centred approach focuses on the client and their requirements from the sessions. It assumes that the client it the expert on themselves, their life and requirements from the sessions, and that they shape the focus and direction of the sessions. This approach has been the main focus of traditional counselling, as the client knows themselves better than anyone, and the therapist is simply a listening ear, offering input and feedback when appropriate.
The person centred approach to therapy, healing and care is widely recognised to be the best core approach to any therapeutic practice and is becoming recognised within other healing professions as paramount such as within the NHS for individualised approaches to care for all.
If your GP has recommended that counselling may be of benefit to you, then this is the approach that they are referring to, and they will approve that you seek a fully qualified professional with the appropriate level of training, assured by BACP membership.

MBACP - Registered Person Centred Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor
For me supervision is about bringing out the best in the people I am working with, and sharing the knowledge and experience I have effectively, in a nurturing, informative, supportive environment.

Clinical Supervision
As a clinical supervisor and therapist, I work dynamically, according to the needs of the supervisee or client, combining many techniques as appropriate. I have a wealth of experience, knowledge and tools, so I'm able to train and supervise counsellors, psychotherapists and holistic therapists on a wide array of techniques and approaches.
I am passionate about selfcare, and I put the person I am working with at the centre of the sessions, so that they are in the best position to support their clients, whilst considering their own needs and boundaries within their practice. I encourage self-cares with all who I work with, and I also provide Reiki and holistic self-care training courses, workshops and treatments.
Practicing from both a traditional and holistic stance, I can nurture and support a variety of professionals, and advice on many therapeutic approaches. I have successfully worked extensively with trauma and PTSD and addictions and habits, achieving positive results, and my skills are very flexibly applied to any presenting issue, working with Domestic Violence survivors, young people, gender issues, addictions, trauma survivors to name but a few, putting me in a great position to supervise and support trainee therapists and established professionals.
